On saturday, I was packing my stuff, and I was helping my roommate to pack her furnitures and her books.  At that time, we need boxes for packing, and we had to go to grocery shopping.  So we went to Kroger.  By going there, we passed my stragers, but they were saying to us “hello” or starting talking.  I thought this is culture, so I said that American culture is really friendly.  My roommate was laughing and asked to me “have you ever heard saying “Hello” from girls?”  After that, I noticed that I’ve never heard saying hello from girls.  My roommate said if man say hello to you, he wants to talk with you.  That is not culture.  At that time, that was really funny.  She said man makes sounds, if he wants to talk with a girl, in Peru.  She went there, and she heard that sounds, but she ignored.  Although I’ve never heard that sound, I don’t want to hear that.

Thank you Fabiola. I’m so glad to meet you. We can keep contacting by e-mail. So don worry ^^ And I will learn how to play tennis because of you.  So When we meet again, let’s play tennis:) Anyway, I’m gonna miss you a lot… U.U I don wanna leave now…

I went to Cary town on Saturday. After I finished my errands I went to coffee shop. I met Ron who is an old man and lives in near the Cary town. He asked to me if I am Korean. I really surprised because most Americans do not know I am a Korean before I tell my name to them. We started to talk. At that time, he was having brunch. He said to me that he is a vegetarian and he explained why he is a vegetarian. First of all, he loves animals. He said that eating meat is like eating friends. I could understand him. I have a dog which is one of my family members. In South Korea, many people eat dogs in summer time. At that time, I could not understand them well. Another reason is that he doesn’t like smell of meat. When he talked about that, I couldn’t stop thinking about our classmate Jihye, because her favorite food is meat. I saw her to eat meat at least 5 plates. I thought that I will ask to Jihye what she thinks about vegetarians and eating meat.  Anyway, he recommended to me vegetarian sandwich. It was really delicious. I didn’t know that sandwich can be delicious without chicken. I was so glad to meet him.

Francisco, I’m really impressed about your opinion. When I present anything, I’m always nervous. But your opinion is really helpful to me.

And thanks your a qestion, my answer is that German is not cruel any more, but after knowing the Holocaust I’m little bit scared about the German. Of course that must not be happened any more, but I was little bit afraid about any war.

Hi Jihye! I think your speech great. Even so there are some things that can be improved, from my modest point of view.

First i will tell you all the good things :) Your speech was really clear to understand, with a good introduction and a good hook. It was a good idea to talk about what did u heard about the Holocaust when u were younger. Then, I think you give good details about the background, dates, an a good explanation about what did it happen. Moreover, is was great that you claimed yout point of view about this topic.

The organisation was clear and well structured. After this introduction you talked about your experience with this guy, and was very curious. Your tone of voice was right and u looked like self-confidence.

On the other hand, the end was too fast! I hadn’t realised that u had finish until I watched the screen. But that’s all. It was very well apart from that!

Finally, I would like to ask you: Do u think that german are still cruel and think like Hitler?

Francisco, your sound are always confident, so I like it. And in this time, you speak a little bit slower than the other time, so I could understand well.  And I really want to go belle isle after listening yours.

This is about the Holocaust museum.  This museum is little bit scary and sad, but if you want to know and learn about the Holocaust, this museum is really helpful. And the Holocaust museum is in downtown.

-Jihye-

On Saturday, I went to Northern Virginia with my roommate.  I remain only 2 weeks befor I leaving.  So I want to say goodbye to my roommate’s family.  Anyway, when we arrived her house, her brother was walking with his dog.  We wanted to walk together.  By walking together, I was talking with her brother.  He is 18, but he already entered colleage, and he said he is taking classes.  I was confused a lot.  Becase, in Korea, we enter a university when we are 19.  But he is sophomore.  So I asked when did you start to go school at first.  We go to school at 7 except preschool.  He said he went to school when he was 5.  And semester starts in fall, but, in Korea, our semesters start in spring.  After that, I noticed that my roommate graduated in this summer.  During walking with dog, almost 1 hour, we were talking a lot about differences between Korea and America.  I will miss my roommate’s family after I leaving here.
